After taking last year off, Bear was back at the 2008 Pug Crawl.  The weather was HOT, which is not pug-friendly, but that didn't stop the hundreds of pugs from coming out and it didn't  stop the costume contest.
This year's costumes were the best I've seen...

The costumes were back and better than ever.  This was one of my favorite.  I saw them putting a parrot costume on and asked if he rides on your shoulder like a parrot.  Imagine my surprise when they said he likes to ride on your shoulder and that's why they thought of that costume!

In addition to taking Bear the Pug, we took our other dog, Charlie the Chihuahua. 
What did he think of the hundreds of pugs?  I don't know, but this one, Pickles, wanted to play; however, Charlie wasn't so sure...

When it's this hot in Portland (over 90!) you need to either be carted around...................or have a Hawaiian shirt to get in the right frame of mind

         
This pug was proudly wearing its snail costume and strutting it's stuff...

This little guy had trouble with his back legs but was zipping all over the place. 
You can't keep a good pug down!

Ceasar (not the Dog Whisperer) has nothing on this pug...................................................and let's not forget Snow White pug.

...and here's a couple of surfing pugs "hanging ten", or is that twenty?  Or isn't that more like 16?
